Initial Registration Procedures for Marine Vessels;

  • Petition: The petition must include a summary of the work to be performed, the name of the signatory, their capacity as signatory, the donor's residential address, Turkish ID number, location information of the vessel, and contact telephone number. It is submitted to the Port Authority where the transaction will be carried out by the donor or their representative.
  • Name Application and Appointment: Access must be made via the website of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure at https://umurbey.uab.gov.tr/Vatandas/Login , and login to the system is required. The process then proceeds to the approval stage at the relevant Harbour Master’s Office / Ship Registry Office.
  • Power of Attorney: Required for transactions conducted by the principal's representative(s).
  • Original Boat Construction/Repair Invoice: Required for new registrations and repairs.
  • Original Machine Invoice: Required for new registrations and machine modifications. For machines placed on the market after January 1, 2008, on boats covered by the Pleasure Craft Regulation, and for all machines to be installed after December 31, 2011, a CE Conformity Certificate is required.
  • Vessel photographs: 3 copies – taken separately from the bow shoulders and from the stern, clearly showing the vessel’s name and port of registry. In addition, a photograph of the vessel’s hull serial number and photographs of the engine(s) serial number(s) must also be submitted to the Harbour Master’s Office authority during the initial registration procedures.
  • Proof of payment of the Mooring Registry licence fee. Mooring Registry fees are determined on an annual basis, and licence renewal procedures must be completed prior to the endorsement period. The Mooring Registry Licence fees for the year 2026 are as follows.

Commercial Vessel Purchase & Sale Transactions;

Petition: The petition must include information such as a summary of the work to be carried out, the name of the signatory, in what capacity they are signing, the shipowner’s residential address, tax identification number, the vessel’s current location, and a contact phone number. It is submitted to the Ship Registry Office where the transaction will be carried out by the shipowner or their authorized representative.

Name Application and Appointment: Access must be made via the website of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure at https://umurbey.uab.gov.tr/Vatandas/Login , and login to the system is required. The process then proceeds to the approval stage at the relevant Harbour Master’s Office.

Appointments are made through the system based on the system approval issued by the relevant Port Authority.
