Life on a Boat

Things to Consider in Life on Board;

Imagine a boat holiday you’ve been waiting for all winter—escaping the gloomy, crowded city life and spending time together with your loved ones…

To ensure your holiday doesn’t turn into a nightmare due to unexpected accidents, we recommend taking a look at this article we’ve prepared based on the experiences of both guests and boat owners.

You should not wear shoes or slippers inside the boat or on the deck. They can cause you to slip on wet surfaces and may also damage the boat’s flooring.

You should never jump into the sea while the boat’s engine is running or before the boat has fully docked. The force of the propeller may pull you in, or the depth of the water—if not clearly visible—could cause serious injury.

On boats, water is supplied via water tanks and is therefore more limited than on land. For this reason, avoiding water waste both contributes to protecting nature and helps prevent mandatory route changes during your holiday to replenish water needed for showers, cooking, toilets, etc.

Boat toilets may operate with household-type or different systems, and waste is collected in holding tanks. Throwing tissues or solid objects into the toilet can cause blockages and unpleasant odors to spread throughout the living areas on board. Moreover, once the toilets become inoperable, this can lead to situations you definitely wouldn’t want to experience during your holiday.

If you have accidentally or unknowingly thrown a solid object into the toilet, please inform the captain immediately.

When the boat is underway, make sure to secure items such as towels, sunglasses, and hats in a safe place, as they may be blown away by the wind and fall into the sea.

When approaching the shore, departing from a port, or entering a marina, you should give way to the crew member, remain seated if possible, and allow them to carry out their duties efficiently and safely.

If you have any requests, you should make them either before docking or after the boat has docked.

You can share your experiences with us via email and help contribute to a higher-quality blue cruise journey…
